GeorgeB has been known as a popular and award winning talk radio personality for well over twenty years. He began the gig and gab as a part-time hobby job, at the urging of media icon, Steve Bowers. He claims to be well educated beyond his intellect and capabilities, having earned Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees. With varied career and job experience, he has been a high school and college teacher, a lobbyist, church music director, tourism promotion and marketing consultant, group tour company owner, and event planner. “The only full time job I’ve ever had,”says George, “is parenting”. GeorgeB has retired at least four times and returned to radio on 93.1 in December of 2018 primarily at the urging of Jacksonian businessmen and friends: Chase Channell and Chuck Walker.

Referred to as the The People’s Spokesman, Guardian Protector of Civil Liberties, Educator of the Airwaves, and Role Model of America’s Youth. The “GeorgeB in the Afternoon Show” encouraged diverse and independent thinking with open-line interactive conversations. His show is not constrained by political party platforms or “top-down” government. It challenged listeners to think about all issues in a fun, informative, and entertaining way — regardless of the opinions or the pressures from elected officials or organizational institutions. “I have always allowed unfiltered freedom of speech from interactive callers and guests, not bending to the ‘good ole boy & girl’ network,” said GeorgeB. He most recently acquired the moniker of P.I.E.I.O. (Public Information, Entertainment & Investigation Officer) — telling it like it is without the propaganda spin of Mayors, Board Members, and elected persons and commissions.

Almost jokingly, GeorgeB insisted on returning to talk radio in a “Limited Engagement” FAREWELL TOUR status. “I came on to help build an interactive west Tennessee broad audience as the station had evolved from gospel music format to a new, but weak talk format,” said GeorgeB in April of 2021. “I only intended to stay one year, but it was fun and I stayed into a third year. In March of 2021 I became unhappy with the lack of efforts to repair broadcast quality, reach, and interrupted status. The main Bells/Alamo tower and transmitter took a hit and I lost about half half of my loyal and consistent listeners. When it became apparent that the technical issues were going to continue to harm listener and advertising numbers, I decided it was a good time to retire and hit the road again traveling by motorhome — you know, Making American Travel Great Again.”
