Walcott, Iowa - What an experience…they had 6 or 7 restaurants and ANYTHING a trucker or RVer could ever want.

Old delivery trucks were only a tiny sample of the trucks we saw in the Trucking Museum. They had every age and type of truck imaginable.

Pokegama Dam where we are staying at the Pokegama Dam Recreation Area on the Mississippi River in Cohasset, Minnesota.

The Mississippi River — Rapids a few hundred feet below the dam…hence the name Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This is where the Mississippi becomes non-navigable.

Chipmunks are everywhere you look — Hagi keeps trying to get them. Wonder what she would do if she caught one?

The Ice House for ice fishing in the winter and camping in the summer.

GeorgeB as the Tin Man! Looking goofy as ever.

Mrs. B as Dorothy…goofy too!

Selfie in front of Judy Garland’s birthplace. Closed on July 4!

A mural representing Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Notice the hunter is apparently hunting motorcycle riders in front of the historic Central School.

Leech River at Leech Lake Recreation Area, in the “town” of Federal Dam, Minnesota.

Our Campsite at Leech Lake Recreation Area, Federal Dam, Minnesota — when we move in, we move in!

While taking walks in our campground:

Taking Hagi for a walk, we see this sign! It should include a warning about black flies also.

What a blast from the past — a phone “booth” in the campground. George verified…it had a dial tone and no cost for making local calls.

En route to the closest town

We rode our scooters to the closest town of Longville, Minnesota — about 20 miles away from campground. Stopped along the way to rest for a bit at this lovely section of the river.

Sights from Longville, Minnesota. We rode all around the town and ate at the local Dairy Bar and Snack Shack before doing the chore of grocery shopping. All the people were exceedingly friendly and the girls at Frosty’s took our picture for us.
